As the name implies Borehamwood 2000 FC was formed in 2000 by Danny Hunter the owner of Boreham Wood Football Club, as a way to bring a youth set up under the main clubs banner. Whole teams and managers were recruited locally and a thriving club was created, run by the main club.

After a couple of seasons it was felt that Borehamwood 2000 would benefit from more control of its own affairs and consequently a full committee was formed. Over the years we have moved further away from the main club due in some part to their very successful PASE set up which replaced the need of youth teams.

The youth set up has always played in the Watford Friendly League and over the years has been very successful winning numerous League titles, cups and a total of five County Cups. With many players going on to be Semi Professionals with various clubs and one, Lee Hodson becoming a full professional and regular first team player for Watford.

We have recently established our links with the main club Boreham Wood FC there are benefits to both clubs, our playing members are sometimes asked to be ball boys or mascots for games.

Some Facts about our Club:

  • We are an FA Chartered Standard club.

  • We have 10 Children’s and youth football teams entered into the Watford Friendly League (WFL)& The Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League (HGFPL) across age groups Under 9 to Under 15.

  • We are a non profit making organisation, run entirely by volunteers offering football to boys and girls whatever their financial circumstances with concessionary membership etc. rates offered to a number of players each year.

  • Each team trains weekly with a qualified FA Level 1, 2 or 3 coach.

  • BW2000 is committed to, and abides by, the FA rules and regulations concerning coaching, child protection and grass roots football development.

  • BW2000 has a child protection officer and, in keeping with the FA Charter Standard, full CRB checks and minimum Level 1 coaching qualifications in place.

  • We aim to offer local, life long, competitive football and coaching and beyond that, social involvement to all current playing members.
